History
Brockley County Football club was formed in August 2007 as a direct result of the drive and enthusiasm of Ron Bell. Among his many activities for children, Ron runs the Saturday training sessions at Hillyfields Park and, impressed by the quality of the children playing there, encouraged a number of parents to set up the club. The first team to be instigated was the under 7 team (subsequently christened the Brockley Lions) and registered with the South-East London and Kent league for the 2007-8 season. The first challenge was gaining funds and the club was immediately helped by Glendale Grounds Management who became our very first sponsor.
Success on the field was achieved and such has been the interest in the club that we have been able to form another team in the Under 9 league. We are now planning to establish more teams for the 2008-9 season as the club goes from strength to strength.
